West Noble’s championship-filled fall added another trophy Saturday night as the Chargers defeated Lakeland 4-1 to win the 2026 IHSAA Boys Soccer Sectional at Bethany Christian. The victory secured West Noble’s first sectional title since 2023 and seventh overall, giving the school its first sectional championship of the fall. Emanuel Gutierrez led the Chargers with a hat trick, while Leo Lopez added a late goal to seal the victory. Marco Macias and Angel Recendiz each recorded an assist, and goalkeeper Ramiro Pedroza finished with four saves. Gutierrez opened the scoring early in the first half, tipping the ball in off the goalkeeper’s fingers. Lakeland, which reached the championship match by defeating Wawasee and host Bethany Christian, answered midway through the half to send the teams into intermission tied 1-1. The Chargers took control after halftime. Gutierrez converted a penalty kick to give West Noble the lead for good, then struck again minutes later to complete his hat trick and extend the advantage to 3-1. Lopez capped the scoring with a late goal as the Chargers celebrated the sectional crown. West Noble now advances to face the Fort Wayne Concordia Cadets on Thursday evening at Concordia in the regional semifinals. The winner will move on to next Saturday’s regional championship at Mishawaka Marian. Congratulations on the sectional championship, Chargers, and good luck Thursday!
