West Noble’s girls soccer team stayed within striking distance until the final minutes Monday night before falling 5–2 to Elkhart Christian Academy. Carolina Garcia scored both goals for the Chargers. Allison Recendiz and Crystal Villalobos each added an assist, while goalkeeper Alessandra Torres made eight saves. West Noble trailed just 3–2 with a couple of minutes remaining. The match came two days after the Lady Chargers’ hard-fought runner-up finish in the NECC tournament, which ended in a penalty shootout Saturday. Despite the quick turnaround, the Chargers competed intensely and kept Monday’s match close deep into the second half.
