The West Noble Chargers had an impressive showing at the West Noble Invitational, earning their way into the championship match against Whitko before rain forced the finals to be suspended. The two teams hope to complete the championship match at a later date. West Noble opened the tournament with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Jimtown. The Chargers were dominant at the top of the singles lineup as #1 singles player Natalia Riegsecker cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Clara Jackson, while Ava DeLong earned a strong 6-1, 6-2 win at #2 singles against Stephanie Cervantes. Lilly Stout and Mya Emmert secured the deciding team point at #2 doubles with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Zoe Kinnison and Rachel Deak. Jimtown claimed wins at #3 singles and #1 doubles, but West Noble’s depth proved to be the difference in the team victory. The Chargers followed that performance with an even stronger 4-1 win over Marion to advance to the finals. Natalia Riegsecker battled through a competitive second set to win 6-0, 7-5 at #1 singles over a very talented Shaeli Casteneda, while Ava DeLong continued her excellent day with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at #2 singles. Marly Shrock added another point for the Chargers at #3 singles with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Lilly Carter. At #2 doubles, Lilly Stout and Mya Emmert dominated play with a perfect 6-0, 6-0 performance against Lilyana Aguilar and Sayra Hernandez. Marion’s lone point came at #1 doubles. Whitko also advanced through the bracket with impressive performances, defeating Lakeland 5-0 and Snider 3-2 to set up the championship matchup with West Noble. Unfortunately, rain moved into the area during the finals and halted play before the match could be completed. The Chargers continue to build momentum late in the season and showed tremendous consistency throughout the invitational with strong singles play and key doubles victories.
