By GameChanger Media West Noble Lady Chargers defeated Fort Wayne South Side Archers 22-7 on Thursday at South Side High School thanks in part to 12 runs in the fifth inning. Brynn Weigold drew a walk, scoring one run, Izzy Beers drew a walk, scoring one run, Natalie Gow drew a walk, scoring one run, McKenzie Davidsen was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Isabelle Savocchi lined out, scoring one run, Victoria Mendoza doubled, scoring two runs, Brooklyn Barden singled, scoring two runs, Weigold singled, scoring one run, Gizelle “Gigi” Reyes drew a walk, scoring one run, and Beyonce Marmolejo singled, scoring one run. West Noble Varsity Lady Chargers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Fort Wayne South Side Varsity Archers committed an error, and West Noble Varsity Lady Chargers scored on a passed ball, each scoring one run. West Noble Varsity Lady Chargers added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Addison Hansen walked, Barden grounded into a fielder's choice, and Beers was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run. The South Side Archers tied the game in the bottom of the second thanks to a passed ball, a hit by a pitch, a walk by Destini Morrison, a hit by a pitch, and a hit by a pitch. West Noble Varsity Lady Chargers jumped back into the lead in the top of the third inning after Marley Mast singled down the left field line, Barden walked, Beers was struck by a pitch, and West Noble Varsity Lady Chargers scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run. Mendoza earned the win for West Noble Varsity Lady Chargers. The reliever allowed zero hits and one run (zero earned) over one and one-third innings, striking out two and walking two. Morrison took the loss for Fort Wayne South Side Varsity Archers. The right-handed pitcher went five innings, allowing 22 runs (20 earned) on eight hits, striking out seven and walking 13. Mast opened the game for West Noble Varsity Lady Chargers. The hurler gave up one hit and five runs (zero earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking four. Beers collected the save. Barden went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Mast led West Noble Varsity Lady Chargers with two hits in two at bats from the leadoff position. West Noble Varsity Lady Chargers had patience at the plate, tallying 13 walks for the game. Barden, Mast, Gow, and Beers led the team with two bases on balls each. Barden, Gow, and Davidsen each stole multiple bases for West Noble Varsity Lady Chargers. West Noble Varsity Lady Chargers stole 10 bases in the game. West Noble Varsity Lady Chargers turned one double play in the game. Amerie English, Jamara Fincher, and Delayna Cartwright each collected one hit for Fort Wayne South Side Varsity Archers. Morrison, English, and Lane Rust each drove in one run for Fort Wayne South Side Varsity Archers. Fort Wayne South Side Varsity Archers had a strong eye at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game. Morrison and Willow Groh led the team with two walks each.
