The West Noble Lady Chargers and Churubusco Eagles played a hard fought game on Friday night in Ligonier. The Chargers used a dominant 3rd quarter where they outscored the Eagles 22-9 to pull away and take a 20 point lead going into the 4th. Elyse Mead led the Chargers with 27 points while fellow sophomore Addyson Burns scored 13 while knocking down 3 3's. Leah Pruitt added 5 off the bench while Ava DeLong battled foul trouble and still ended up with 4 points. Brooklyn Barden, Ella Limerick and Cloie Ulrey rounded out the scoring with 2 points each. Coach Wiktorowski had this to say after the game.. "I felt our press really gave them trouble and gave us an emotional lift. Leah Pruitt gave us a lot of solid minutes tonight off the bench when we had foul trouble. Addy Burns played with great heart and handled the ball well. It was good to see Elyse Mead score 27 points mainly by making aggressive moves to the basket. It was good to get our first conference win." The Chargers are now 4-6 on the season and 1-3 in the NECC. Great work ladies!
